Obituary and Services
Daniel Wayne Caddell, 75, of Cordesville, South Carolina, passed away on August 14, 2026.
Dan was born on January 26, 1951, in Baltimore, Maryland.
Anyone who knew Dan knew would describe him as a hard-working man. He spent more than 55 years in the HVAC industry and was the owner of Equipment Services. He believed strongly in doing things the right way and valued integrity over profit. His customers knew him not only for his skill and work ethic, but also for his honesty and willingness to help others. Dan was the kind of man who could work seven days a week, twelve hours a day and somehow still believe there was more to be done.
But work was only part of who Dan was. He loved being outdoors and especially loved his home in the woods in Cordesville. Also, few things made him happier than being in a boat on the water. An avid tournament fisherman during his life, the water was one of the places where Dan was most at peace.
In the fall of 2014, Dan met Kristi, and it was practically love at first sight. Even though they found one another later in life, they quickly knew they had found something special. Kristi will remember above all the extraordinary love with which he treated her.
Dan's life also included an amazing chapter that few people have the opportunity to experience. Adopted as a child, he later found his biological family and discovered an entirely new family to know and love. Finding them brought another large and loving family into Dan's life.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Newton and Janie Caddell; his son, Christopher Caddell; his brother, Patrick Caddell; and members of his biological family, including his brother Tony and sister Debbie.
He is survived by his wife, Kristi Caddell and her daughter, Jessi Kaasa (Jesse); his children, Daniel Jr., Jennifer Leakey (Craig), and Stacey Langevin (Scott); his sister, Patricia; his biological sisters, Joanne and Linda; his grandchildren, Austin Caddell (Samantha), Brandon Caddell, Christopher Caddell (Katelyn), Gage Theriot, Logan Watkins (Megan), Scott Langevin Jr, Abigail Langevin, Joshua Caddell, Christian Caddell, Christian Leakey, Kyle Leakey, Karlie Leakey, Gunnar and Samson Kassa, Desmond, Terron, Monica, Shaun, Angelina Langevin; his great-grandchildren Mason, Eli, Maverick, Everleigh, Harrison, Shepard, Sladen, Archie, Kieran, Parker, Rosie, Sonnie, and the many extended family members whose lives were woven into his own.
Dan was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Cross, South Carolina, and his faith was an important part of his life.
The final years of Dan's life brought physical challenges that would have defeated the spirit of many people. But Dan remained steadfast, determined, stubborn in the very best sense of the word, and always believing he could get stronger. He worked so hard to regain what illness had taken from him and continued fighting until the end.
On the evening of August 14, Dan's fight was finally over. He leaves behind the example of a man who never gave up easily. Dan was deeply loved, and he will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life for Daniel Caddell will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at The Rutledge Room, 207 Rutledge Ave., Charleston, SC, 2:00-6:00 p.m.
