The Life Of Carminha Cramer

With heavy and grateful hearts, we celebrate the life of Carminha Cramer, who

peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sept 9, 2026 at the age of 64 after a long

illness.

Carminha was born November 21, 1961, in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, to the late Laurimar

Machado and Martha de Carvalho Machado. She attended Federal University of Brazil

and received a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature. With her degree, she taught

English as a second language in Brazil before following her dream to come to the

United States.

While visiting a friend in New York, she was introduced to her now husband Doug,

where they built a beautiful life together in Kinderhook, New York and most recently

Charleston, South Carolina. She loved to travel, go on cruises, visit the ocean, do

weekly Zumba sessions, daily walks with her dogs, cook-outs with family and friends,

and most of all, she loved her ongoing relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus

Christ since the age of 12. Not a day would go by that her family would not hear her be

singing praises and worship to the Lord throughout the house.

She was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, great aunt, and grandmother. She leaves

behind her husband Doug Cramer, children Rachael Cramer, Jonathan who preceded

her in death as an infant, and Isaac (Laura) Cramer, her mother: Martha Cossa, a

brother: Fernando who preceded her in death, nieces: Victoria (Michael) Stark & Jamie

Van Bramer, Nephews: Joshua Meyer, Ethan (Jazmine) Cramer, brother and sister in-

laws: David (Sharon) Cramer, Daniel (Sheila) Cramer, Deborah (Bob) Johnson, Donna

(Rob) Van Bramer, Dorothy Meyer, Michael (Christy) Cramer, Gary (Debbie) Cramer,

grandchildren: Noah Cramer and Joel Cramer, grandniece: Bailey (JJ) Potter, and

grandnephew: Graham Cramer.

Carminha’s life was a blessing to those who knew her. Even with all her hardships and

struggles, she always lit up the room with her sweetness, her smile, her laugh, her

warmth, her love, and joy. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will continue

to live on through the love, stories, and lives she impacted.

Rest peacefully Carminha. You will always be loved and not forgotten. Until we see

you again…

The memorial service will be held Sunday, September 13, 2026, 5pm at The Lowcountry Mortuary.
